Tonight MTV’s Real World hit Denver. Some cast member’s road trains, others by plane. Two members were picked up in a horse and buggy at Union Station. Nice touch Real World - turns out no one ever uses those things here in Dtown. Way to haul the hot cheerleader and the Omaha lad to their pad in a mode of transportation that paints Denver as a hicktown. “Denver feels so fresh and clean” is a reoccuring theme with people visiting Denver and one of the members mutters.

We meet the cast, all of which are in their early 20s…
Alex - 22 years old from Houston, TX
Brooke - 24 years old from Nashville, TN
Colie - 22 years old from East New Brunswick, NJ
Davis - 23 years old from Marietta, GA
Jennifer - 22 years old from Martinez, CA
Stephen - 22 years old from Washington, DC
Tyrie - 23 years old from Omaha, NE

The house is decked out as to be expected with past seasons. The designer went a bit overboard with the outdoor theme. Every other camera angle has a fish, deer, elk or some type of wild game on the wall. Denver isn’t all cold, mountains and Big Game Hunting. The house was once a bar I played a few games of fooseball in back in the day. It looks nothing like that now and is amazing if you can overlook the overdone outdoor themes.

Product shots can be found lace throughout the show - nice shot of subway subs in one of the opening scenes. Brooke and Alex arrive in a limo and she begins her quest for the token gay person in the house. The Southern Belle uses her charm on Tyrie who is a fan of her booty. Jenn, the former cheerleader, is ready to get naked before the remaining three cast members arrive. Foreshadowing of who the hoochie in the house is? hmmmm. Stephen is stoked when he sees Tyrie that “there will be another black guy in the house”. The women are excited about all sharing one room together. Davis and Stephen appear to be best buds fromt he get go but later in the show that isn’t the case. Colie latches on to Alex from the get-go. There is a full size Jeep Wrangler in the house as a bar. Five cast member venture out…for what? Alcohol of course. Along the way Stephen comments on not wanting to be part of the homosexual lifestyle after the Southern Belle asks who is gay again. A little hung up on someone being gay. Back at the pad Davis complains about Christianity being too judgemental and confides in Colie that he’s gay and has his first boyfriend. The have an immediate bond, how cute.

Wine is flowing, the cast is all lovey dovey and share a few beers and shots. What’s the logic game to play? Truth or Dare of course. Jenn already sets the ground work that she may do things when drunk. Excellent drunk, attractive former cheerleaders already ready to get wild on the first night! Colie and Alex get it on in front of each other by Alex kissing her neck. Colie appears to want the hooker of the house title. Tyrie makes his move on Brooke in the hot tub, but she isn’t buying it. Instead Brooke states she doesn’t give a crap what anyone thinks and makes out with Jenn. Tyrie is a happy man with two women making out in front of him. Colie proceeds to get her make out on with Alex and state to the camera, “I’m not good at baseball but I’m good at kissing”.

The shots of Denver are pretty cool and show a variety of things from the mountains, city and community. Colie is weirded out for hooking up the first night. Awe, you poor thang. Colie tells Jenn outside that Alex “has a really big penis”. You see the light bulb go off over Jenn’s head… Oooo she’s got get her some of that. Brooke again mentions, “I thought there was going to be gay people”. Tyrie states that most of the members of the black community are homophobic. MTV is definitely doing a good job editing to make the first episode about the gay issue.

The group heads to the Tavern bar, drinks some more and out it comes… Davis reveals he is homosexual. Funny how Stephen was cool with Davis in the beginning of the show but once he finds out Davis is gay, look out, he’s not so cool with him. Stephen thought he’d know right away if someone was gay right away or not. Stephen is baffled and it is pretty comical. Brooke tells Davis she somewhat attracted to him cause she feels it wouldn’t happen since he’s gay. Nice move Davis, perhaps that’s the card to play to get women. RTD-Denver.com gets a nice long shot in the segment. Stephen tells Davis he thinks it’s wrong that he’s gay, to which Davis asks him how he’d feel if said it’s wrong that you’re black.

Now that Davis is out, the women are all over his ass. Alex has a “Hey” tattoo. Hey Alex? What’s with the tat? Colie and Jen claim to be close and are good friends. They crew finds its way to the club Monarck. onlookers watch as the cast members get their groove on and have a 3way make out with Colie, Alex and Jenn. Nothing like a good make out for the drunk gawkers at the club.

True to form Colie goes to bed, Alex and Jenn continue to drink and proceed to throw a pizza in the oven. The two raging hornballs make their way to the guest room and forget about the pizza. The buzzing wakes poor Colie who was expected another shagging with Alex. She tries to get Alex to come to bed with her but he proclaims the I just want to be friends card. Colie heads back to bed , while Jenn and Alex proceed to have sex.

Colie vs Jenn for who the bigger hook up artist will be this season. Thus far, Jenn is in the lead for her girl on girl make out, her three way inthe club make out, her make out with Alex and she takes the lead by doing the full on nookie nookie with Alex. BOOO YA

On MTV’s web site the music video shows more drama, more make outs and Tryie apparently gets arrested as they show him getting cuffed and stuffed in the back of a police car. Should be interesting to see what unfolds this season. Good, bad or ugly it gets the city of Denver on the tube and should help with the local tourism.
